Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is health?
Health is a state of optimal, physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease.

What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural system of health care that focuses on correcting vertebral subluxations, thereby restoring the integrity of your nervous system.

What is a subluxation?
A subluxation is what occurs when the vertebrae move from their normal position (misaligns) and cause nerve interference.

What effects can a subluxation have on my body?
A subluxation can cause joint damage, nerve damage, muscle damage, tissue damage, and overall body malfunction.

How does somebody get a subluxation?
There are three causes of subluxations.
-
Physical Causes (slips, falls, accidents, and improper lifting)
-
Emotional Causes (grief, anger, and fear)
-
Chemical Causes (alcohol, drugs, pollution, and poor diet)

What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a correction of the misaligned vertebrae. This correction frees the nervous system, restores nervous circulation and promotes self-healing.

What is innate intelligence?
Innate intelligence is your body's ability to heal on its own (self-healing) if it has no nerve interference.

Why should I return if I'm feeling fine?
You may have spinal blockage and not know it because subluxations are often painless. That's why regular chiropractic spinal checkups are so important.

Can I adjust myself?
No. Damage can occur by mobilizing a joint with weakened muscles and ligaments. Adjustments are specific and should be performed by a chiropractor.

Why do newborns get adjustments?
The childbirth process can cause a subluxation, which could result in health problems during infancy and early childhood.
